Auckland, 19 February 2019 – Speak Up For Women NZ have today announced the addition of another speaker to the line-up for their event ‘Let’s Talk About Sex Self-ID’ on Tuesday 26th February.

Labour MP Hon Louisa Wall will be joining Professor Alison Heather, Professor Rosa Freedman, and Barrister Julian Norman to discuss the potential unintended consequences of sex self-identification within the upcoming Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration Bill.

“It has been our goal all along to have constructive dialogue about sex self-ID and we are grateful to MP Louisa Wall for taking the time out of her busy schedule to take part in our event,” says Speak Up For Women spokeswoman, Ani O’Brien.

“We look forward to facilitating a discussion about the potential implications of the BDMRR Bill on women’s rights and hearing Ms Wall’s perspective.”

  1. That is very good news. Louisa Wall will have the opportunity to hear a reasoned and courteous discussion on the possible implications of Self ID for women’s rights that could have taken place months ago, if not for the overreaction from herself and other government MPs.
